I. Project Background
As the core area of the European automotive industry, the state of Bavaria, Germany, is where a century-old automotive component group plans to build a new intelligent factory in 2025, focusing on the production of precision components for new energy vehicles. The factory encompasses automated assembly lines, warehousing and logistics centers, and high-precision testing laboratories. It has strict requirements for the ground materials: they must meet the ISO 14644-1 10,000-level clean standard, possess permanent anti-static properties, and be able to withstand 200°C hot forklift crushing. At the same time, it integrates German industrial design aesthetics and the EU green manufacturing system. Inner Mongolia Luju Plastic Products Co., Ltd., with its innovative technology for the “New Mary Series” industrial-grade plastic flooring, defeated competitors from Italy and France, among others, and became the sole supplier for this project.
II. Project Requirements
The factory floor needs to be able to withstand frequent mechanical operations and precise production environments. The core requirements are as follows:
Functionality: The surface resistivity against static electricity should be maintained at a stable level. Anti-static attenuation time < 2 seconds; Wear resistance grade reaches T level, resistant to long-term rolling by forklifts and robot AGVs; resistant to corrosion from industrial oils such as engine oil and gear oil.
Environmental adaptability: The color must comply with the German industrial safety color standard (such as RAL 7035 equipment gray, RAL 1003 warning yellow), matte surface reduces light pollution in the workshop; The material must pass the EU CE certification and the German Blue Angel environmental logo.
Construction efficiency: Needs to complete 20,000 square meters of laying within 6 weeks to ensure the factory starts production on time; The construction process must comply with the ISO 45001 occupational health and safety standard, with zero noise and zero pollution.
III. Solution
Construction and Services
German Industrial Standard Construction:
The construction team holds valid certifications (possessing German DGUV occupational safety certification), uses a glueless locking technique, and there is no solvent evaporation throughout the process. The VOC content in the construction environment is less than 5mg/m³, which is superior to the indoor air quality standard of the European Union.
The laser leveling technology is introduced, and the ground flatness error is controlled within ±1mm; a 40-person team completed the entire laying process in 38 days, 4 days ahead of the contract schedule, and the noise around the factory during the construction period was less than 55dB, without affecting the surrounding residents.
Localized Service System:
A spare parts warehouse is set up in Munich, and a 2-hour response is promised for after-sales needs; a German-language “Floor Maintenance Manual” and practical training are provided for factory technicians, covering professional contents such as conductive performance testing and oil stain cleaning.
During the product life cycle, annual performance inspections are provided, including resistance value retesting and wear resistance coefficient testing, to ensure that the floor continuously meets the ISO 14644-1 standard.
IV. Project Outcomes
(1) Performance Verification
Anti-static Performance: One year after the factory went into operation, it was tested by the German Federal Institute for Physical and Technical Research (PTB). The floor surface resistance remained stable, and no accidents occurred due to static electricity damaging precision components. The factory was awarded the “Best Supply Chain Innovation Award” by the customer.
Durability Test: The wear rate in high-frequency operation areas (such as the entrance of the assembly line) was only 0.04mm per year (the national standard allowed value was 0.15mm per year). The tire marks from forklifts naturally dissipated within 24 hours, maintaining the cleanliness of the workshop.
Environmental Compliance: The material recyclability ratio reached 85%, meeting the requirements of the EU’s “Circular Economy Action Plan”; all construction waste was recycled by local environmental protection enterprises, achieving the “zero landfill” goal.
(2) Customer Evaluation
Dr. Schmidt, the technical director of the factory, stated: “Lujiu’s ‘New Mary Series’ flooring perfectly balances industrial performance and sustainability. Its anti-static stability exceeds that of the Italian brand we previously used, and the low-carbon design further helps us achieve the EU carbon tariff (CBAM) compliance target ahead of schedule. This is a very successful ‘German Industrial Standards and Chinese Innovative Technology’ cooperation model.”
(3) Industry Impact
This project was included in the green factory recommendation cases of the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA), attracting the European factories of BMW, Audi, and other automakers for on-site visits. Through this, Lujiu Company broke through the barriers of the European high-end industrial flooring market and became the first Chinese plastic flooring brand to enter the German “Industry 4.0” supply chain system, promoting the recognition of Chinese manufacturing in the EU market by 30%.
