I. Project Background
“Bean Here” is a well-known boutique coffee shop in Brooklyn, New York. In 2024, it initiated a global flagship store renovation project, aiming to create a popular tourist destination that combines “Retro style”. As a highly popular place with an average daily visitor count of over 2,000, the owner has core requirements for the floor material: it needs to withstand frequent coffee spills and the long-term placement of heavy coffee machines (weighing 1.5 tons), and the design style should match the decoration theme of “rough cement texture + warm wooden elements”, with materials that comply with the US LEED green building certification (low VOC, recyclable). After a global supplier selection process, Inner Mongolia Luju Plastic Products Co., Ltd. was chosen as the exclusive supplier for this project, thanks to its “180PLUS Series” plastic flooring’s high cost-effectiveness and customization capabilities.
II. Project Requirements
Functionality
The wear resistance level should reach the P standard (commercial highest level), capable of withstanding thousands of daily footfalls and the long-term placement of coffee machines (weighing 1.5 tons);
The anti-stain performance needs to resist stubborn stains such as coffee, milk, and syrups, and be resistant to acid and alkali corrosion (stable within the pH range of 3-11);
The slip resistance level should be R10 (dry state friction coefficient ≥ 0.6), and the wet area (such as below the bar counter) should reach R11 level. Design style
Main visual simulation: “Weathered Cement Floor”, with natural textures and fine scratches (industrial style);
The dining area is embedded with a walnut wood-like mosaic (width 30cm), creating a visual contrast between “coldness” and “warmth”.
Environmentally friendly and compliant
Complies with the US CARB certification (formaldehyde to release≤ 0.005 ppm), California 65 proposal (lead-free, no heavy metals such as cadmium);
The material has a recyclable utilization rate of ≥ 80%, meeting the requirements of the LEED v4 certification “Materials and Resources” scoring item.
Construction challenges
It needs to be completed within 10 days for an 800-square-meter installation (including weekend all-night construction), to avoid affecting the normal operation of the store;
The old floor is terrazzo, and it needs to be quickly removed without damaging the original structure of the building (this building is a century-old protected building).
III. Solutions
(1) Product customization
Developed a 180PLUS series – industrial style exclusive plastic flooring specifically for “Bean Here” coffee shop

(2) Cross-border Construction Services
Supply chain guarantee:
Use combined transportation of sea freight + air freight: Main materials transported by sea (25 days directly to New York Port), urgent replenishment by air (48 hours to store);
Complete FDA food contact safety certification (special testing of baking area materials) 3 months in advance.
On-site construction:
Luju Company collaborates with local New York construction team, adopts rapid lock fastening paving technology, daily paving 100㎡, joint error ≤ 0.1mm;
Old ground treatment uses dust-free grinding machine (dust concentration < 0.1mg/m³), in line with environmental protection standards for historical building construction in New York City.
After-sales support:
Provide 5-year global warranty, 100㎡ reserve materials in the US warehouse, response time for damaged replacement < 72 hours.
Ⅳ. Project Outcomes
(1) Usage Effect
Mold resistance actual measurement: After 6 months of operation, the floor in the ordering counter area has a wear of only 0.03mm (far below the P-grade standard of 0.1mm/year), no indentation in the coffee machine placement area;
Anti-fouling verification: After 24 hours of static coffee stains, they can be completely removed with ordinary cleaning agents, no residue marks;
Customer feedback: Social media photos show that the floor design has become a popular background, store traffic increased by 35%.
(2) Customer Evaluation
Owner Jason: “Luju’s 180PLUS floor exceeded expectations, especially anti-fouling property – we handle hundreds of coffee spills every day, the floor is still as good as new. Most importantly, it perfectly matches our industrial style design, many guests specifically ask about the floor brand.”
Construction supervisor Mike: “As a local construction team, we rarely use Asian brands, but the design of 180PLUS is too efficient, 40% faster than traditional plastic floor paving, and there is almost no waste.”
LEED certification consultant Sarah: “The environmental protection indicators of the materials are fully compliant, especially recyclability, helped us obtain the key score for LEED Silver certification.”
(3) International Impact
This project became a benchmark case for plastic products from Inner Mongolia to export to the United States, and was rated as “Best Commercial Space Ground Design of 2024” by New York “Architectural Digest”. The 180PLUS series thus opened up the North American market. In the first half of 2025, the order volume in the United States increased by 200% year-on-year, and it gradually entered the supply chains of chain brands such as Starbucks and Seesaw.
V. Summary
In the “Bean Here” coffee shop project, the 180PLUS series of plastic flooring, with its commercial-grade durability, international design adaptation, and cross-border service guarantee, successfully broke through the cognitive barriers of the European and American market towards “Made in China” plastic flooring. This cooperation not only verified the international competitiveness of Luju products, but also explored the cross-border cooperation model of “customized products + localized services”. In the future, Luju Company will continue to deepen the global adaptability of the 180PLUS series, provide cost-effective ground solutions for commercial scenarios such as catering and retail, and promote Chinese plastic products to the global mid-to-high-end market.
